My name is Dr. Roméo Kolegbe and since 2020 I’m an independent hobby photographer alongside my career as a researcher in the fields of literary studies and higher education didactics. I have a deep and boundless passion for photography. I discovered within my natural talent and which I taught myself with the help of photography books, tutorial videos and countless hours of practice. Because I really love taking photos which I shoot with heart and soul.

Over the years, I’ve used every spare moment to first discover my own style of photography and then refine it. That’s how I founded together with my wife 2022 the unincorporated photography organization World Photo History – The World in Progress (WPH n.e.V.) in Berlin, which is dedicated to all Hobby Photographers.

My website, On My Camera (onmycamera.com), launched in Berlin on August 25, 2026, is a personal vision that is slowly becoming a reality. My current goal here is to continue to express my natural gift for photography by dedicating myself to the art of authenticity in photographic portraits. Against this backdrop, I have repeatedly photographed a wide variety of people over the last few years, and I thoroughly enjoy capturing in rich detail their enchanting inner and outer worlds, the beauty and uniqueness of each individual, as well as the beauty of every skin tone and every part of the body.

My photographic work can be summed up in one word: Authenticity in the details and art with absolutely no image editing after taking the photo on a camera. Just work with the camera and adjust all the settings before taking the photograph, so that the photo does not require any editing afterwards and can be regarded as authentic work, just as the camera captured it.
